About this place
Start with a few antipasti, then move on to pasta. At Cibo, part of the pleasure is putting together a meal from a range of dishes. One diner who ordered the chef’s assorted starters said it was a treat to sample many of them at once. The menu also lists an assortment of 6 items, including carpaccio, duck loin, liver pâté and pickles.
For individual plates, there are mushroom ajillo and shiitake mushrooms with Gorgonzola. One diner recalled enjoying the sight of a toothpick bobbing in the bubbling oil of the ajillo, making it a memorable dish to pick at around the table. Another said the potato salad stood out among the items in an assorted platter. Liver pâté with apple jam and baked Camembert with honey and almonds are also listed, offering more small plates to pair with wine.
Pasta choices include marinara, a tomato sauce with anchovies and oregano; spaghetti with bottarga; and carbonara with house-made bacon. Puttanesca, which one visitor singled out, is also on the menu. On another occasion, a diner enjoyed the combination of pasta and a lighter take on carbonara made with baby corn.
For dessert, consider chocolate terrine or panna cotta. The menu lists dolce assortments of 3 or 4 items, a way to sample a few sweets. Cibo is a small restaurant in Mototanaka, and its guidance recommends booking for dinner. If you have a meal of several plates in mind, reserving a table may be a good idea.
